Presented by Tawia Addo-Ashong, SSATP's Road Safety Pillar Lead, on November 28, 2019 at SSATP's Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, this presentation provides an overview of the main outcomes of the legislators, universities and African Road Safety Observatory (ARSO) meetings. The main subjects discussed during the African Regional Network for Road Safety Legislators meeting included the ratification of the African Union Road Safety Charter, an outreach program among parliamentarians, and the harmonization process for addressing the safety of vehicles . The Universities Meeting discussed ways to expand collaboration between ministries of transport and univitiers, including by introducing road safety in civil engineering programs. The ARSO meeting focused on improving and extending communications related to operationalizing observatory. This presentation also covered other subjects, including guidelines for the development of urban road safety strategies, and shared the experiences of other countries.
