Presented by Zemedkun Girma Tessema, SSATP's Urban Transport and Mobility Pillar Lead, on November 28, 2019 at SSATP's Annual General Meeting in Victoria Falls, this presentation provides an overview of the main recommendations for advancing the work of the Sustainable Urban Mobility & Accessibility (SUMA) thematic area under the Fourth Development Plan (DP4), most notably: (i) Including security as an important element of the overall objective; (ii) Despite the EASI framework being very helpful, there is a need to pay more attention to climage change and digitilization issues; (iii) good governance is key; (iv) a follow-up system for the national urban mobility studies is welcome; (v) supporting action towards sustainable urban mobility plans should be part of future UTM studies.
