Urban Mobility Workshop in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia, December 1 to 4
The SSATP is hosting its first Workshop on Urban Mobility and Accessibility Policies in Addis-Ababa from December 1 to 4.
The objective of the workshop is to seek the participants opinion and contribution to develop a conceptual framework for identifying policy options for providing safe, clean and affordable urban transport in Africa secondary and primary cities in support of the “Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 11)” - Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
The workshop will also identify among the participants prospective champion countries interested in participating as pilot for the policy development work. The nominated officials attending the workshop are expected to make a short presentation on their country’s urbanization agenda, institutions and policy instruments in place leading urban transport in both secondary and primary cities, and the challenges and gaps in coordinating integrated urban planning, land use and transport development.
We are looking forward to meeting all the participants from the 40 SSATP member countries invited to this event.
