Increased coordination is the objective of the One-Stop Border Post (OSBP) approach, which is gaining momentum in several regions of Africa. In East Africa, the East Africa Community (EAC), the corridor authorities and their member states have decided to convert all major border posts into OSBPs. One of the main objectives of this decision is to streamline processes and reduce the amount of paperwork and time required to cross the border. The Malaba border, which connects Kenya to Uganda, is a pilot in the East Africa OSBP program, with an average of 600 trucks per day crossing the border. This video clip shows what has been happening at the Malaba border and how these changes are affecting transport across the EA region. The OSBP is a recommendation of the Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP).
